Higgsfield hit $1B in annualized revenue and the CEO open sourced it

Alex Mashrabov, CEO of Higgsfield, said: "Go build your own Higgsfield."

Higgsfield announced it passed $1B in annualized revenue , 18 months after launch.

Faster than the AI coding platforms that kicked off this wave.

OpenAI and Anthropic released 3 new models despite asking for slowdowns

Anthropic released Opus 5.5 , as good as Fable 5.1 on most work for less than half the price. Artificial Analysis gave it 58, the highest score it has ever measured.

90 minutes later OpenAI shipped GPT-6 Sol and Luna at half the price of the 5.6 versions. Sol scored 48, same as the model it replaces.

Anthropic went for the score and OpenAI went for the price. So much for the slowdown its CEO asked for.

ChatGPT Astra and Claude Fable can do horrible things

In a disturbing video , ChatGPT Astra attempted harmful action over 90% of the time it was asked to. Stabbing a human-like figure, heating compressed gas, toxic fumes, all fine in its books.

Fable 5.1 refused more often, but it doesn't make the situation any lighter. Maybe Bernie Sanders wasn't over exaggerating.

Claude found a new gene editor

Anthropic put about 950 Claude agents on a giant database of DNA for 21 hours. One of them spotted a pattern nobody had catalogued, the same shape CRISPR has. Anthropic's scientists tested it in the lab and named it ART.

Dario Amodei says it could be a new way to edit genes. It's a preprint, not a peer-reviewed paper, and when Anthropic reran the experiment ten more times, the agents missed it every time.

Claude now charges you for saying no

Anthropic will bill you for requests its safeguards block . You send the prompt, a classifier rejects it, you get nothing back and you pay the full input rate anyway.

Anthropic calls it a defense against coordinated attacks. The attackers are the 0.3% using stolen keys. The bill lands on whoever owns the key, and nobody has said a word about refunds.

The obvious move was banning the people attacking. Instead, everyone gets the bill.
